Rudy doesn't like the idea of Hedo
UPDATE: Jason Quick is reporting that all this Rudy spite for Hedo is news to the Blazers. The brain trust, however, has not spoken to Rudy since the ESPN report was published, however, there's enough in this article to suggest that Rudy, is in fact, kool and the gang. Stay tuned.

Chris Sherdian is reporting that "Portland's pursuit of a certain player from Turkey has infuriated the Trail Blazers' lone remaining Spanish player, Rudy Fernandez, to the point where he'd prefer to play in Greece, Russia or even Spain again, ESPN.com learned Tuesday."
Wow. Disappointing yes to see Rudy handle it this way, but I can't fault him for being just a bit pissed to see his super-sub role get reduced after leaving so much money on the table to get here in the first place.
Thoughts?
UPDATE: enter the Blogfather to help us down from the ledge:
"They all shoot and create. I don't know what their plan is, but if I coached, I'd always have at least two playmakers on the floor. Rudy, Hedo and Roy. So Rudy and Hedo are speed unit while Roy rests. (Hedo ran break for Magic, and was good at it.). All 3 in crunch time.
We know Rudy and Roy are nice together. And Roy and Hedo can have side P/R with Roy on weakside. Roy and Hedo can also be the backcourt of a HUGE lineup. And all 3 in crunch time.
It's Blake whose minutes might suffer the most, I bet.
For all we know, Rudy is thrilled, and just has an over-eager agent spotting an opportunity to extract promises for more minutes."
I have to admit: Roy/Rudy/Turkoglu/LMA/Oden in crunch time. Now that's sexy.

Advanced statistical metrics like WP48 also don't like the idea of Hedo as a consistently productive player.
Here's the WP48 info. on Hedo:
2005-06 = 0.116 WP48 & 6.3 Wins produced
2006-07 = 0.060 & 3.8 wins
2007-08 = 0.157 & 9.9 wins
2008-09 = ~0.101 & ~5.9 wins
So it seems that Hedo’s performance fluctuates yearly. The good thing here is if you consider this to be a trend (which would be a silly way to look at things since there is no correlation here) then he would again be above average for 2009-10 :-).
I'm hoping that this is being blown up by the Spanish media, and Rudy is not being a tool.
The question is if Rudy would ever be happy with a Manu type of role. B Roy will always be ahead of him at the 2. The minutes will be there though, Hedo or not. If Rudy isn't happy with a Manu role then we're on borrowed time either way.
TO+Blake for Hinrich helps solve Rudy's worries as well as shore up the PG position some.... just saying....
I got a chubby reading this lineup:
Roy/Rudy/Turkoglu/LMA/Oden
